HNST.LY is a beautiful little store based in the Holešovice district of Prague, Czechia.

The brand was conceived three years ago as an online shop with handmade products and stories of the people who made them.

In 2016 it opened its doors as a concept store and last month owner Bara Perglova spoke exclusively to Falcon, explaining how she aspires to showing people that everyone can live better through design…

Bara- I was always simply fascinated by the world of honest products and the creative people behind them who add so much value. I believe that we all should buy durable things, prefer quality and support producing from natural and renewable materials.

Falcon- How would you describe the concept of your shop?

Bara- My shop is a collection of everyday products for the home and lifestyle. My product range contains wooden kitchen utensils, natural handmade brushes, porcelain and ceramics, Czech linen textiles, woolen blankets from traditional Czech family factories, natural cosmetics and so much more. The majority is produced by Czech makers, so it’s the perfect honest souvenir.

Falcon- What do you think makes a good product / design?

Bara- I believe that things for everyday use can be both beautiful and useful. And of course properly made of great materials. I think that you will know product is really good only if it’s long-lasting and you can use it for years and years.

Falcon- Is there a traditional or unique dish to Prague that you would make using any of our Falcon products? Can you also share the recipe?

Bara- A typical Czech meal is roasted pork with sauerkraut and dumplings. The Falcon bake pan is the perfect dish for roasting pork!

Falcon- Can you describe or give tips on the best places to eat, drink, source ingredients in Prague. (it could be describing your perfect food day for example).

Bara- I highly recommend breakfast in "Cafe Jen" in Vrsovice district. They have also weekend specials - full plates for full tummies.

Have lunch in one of “Lokál" restaurants. They cook typical Czech meals, including roasted pork with sauerkraut and dumplings!

For a sweet afternoon visit “Cukrárna Alchymista” in Letná district. There you can have the best cakes and delicious coffee as well! In the Summer you can enjoy cakes and coffee in their beautiful backyard full of flowers.

For dinner try the fine burgers in “Dish”. But don’t forget to book, this place is so good that is full all the time! For an evening glass of wine try “Bokovka” winery. The perfect place for a bottle of wine with friends.
