Can you introduce us to Sea Sisters Cannery?
Sea Sisters are the first manufacturers of canned fish in England since the 1940s. We spark excitement for British fish and seafood by championing lesser-known, locally landed species and preserving them using innovative recipes and quality ingredients. Our range of canned fish is called British Conservas.
Using exclusively British fish and seafood from plentiful and mature stocks, Sea Sisters embraces the rhythm of the seasons and the seas. We work with women in the fishing industry, British aquaculture and certified fishers who use low impact fishing techniques. Each can is handcrafted using the time-honoured method of hand-packing in our craft cannery. As a family company, inspired by the founders two daughters, Sea Sisters are creating a legacy for future generations by being ethical and sustainable. We make considered decisions for everything we do including a low waste production, utilising recyclable materials and supporting a circular economy.
We have put together some ideas for hosting your own Valentines Breakfast and here are our top tips using one of our favourite products :
As tradition dictates, the way to a lover's heart is always through food. This valentines, we’ve chosen one of our most loved cans – Smoked Rainbow Trout – as a delicious breakfast for two. Oak smoked in house, we’re pairing this trout with warm crumpets, whipped cream cheese, jammy eggs and a squeeze of lemon. Simple, effortless, and full of flavour. Our Smoked Rainbow Trout – one of our OG products – and its sibling, Chilli Trout, both perfect for this breakfast. Both Conservas are preserved in a quality EVOO
Why choose Trout over Salmon?
- Smaller ecological footprint - requires less feed
- Lower environmental impact
- Traditional and responsibly farmed
All our Conservas are made in small batches and lovingly packed in Dorset. We love enjoying our smoked rainbow trout with Falcon – effortlessly stylish and instantly recognisable. Add a cold fresh orange mimosa to complete this brekky.
