ACE GENERAL STORE

Ace General Store have a unique approach to selling their wares. Community-driven, the co-owners Alex and Dan Cordell want it to be a place of refuge where good conversation over hot coffee lives, connecting you with those who make the things you buy. A conduit for thoughtful connection, where warmth envelopes you.

Find out why they love the Falcon mug most of all and where best to hunker down with a warm fire in Excelsior this Winter.

F: Can you tell us about Ace General Store?

Ace General Store is a men's goods and gear shop located in a historic carriage house in Excelsior, Minnesota.

F: How would you best describe the concept of the store?

Ace is community-driven and heritage-inspired. We believe we all do better when we all do better. We are makers ourselves and always aim to represent new and emerging artists as well as long-established classics.

F: What do you think makes a good product/ design?

Function, beauty, and accessibility.

F: Is there a specific dish that you would make using any of our Falcon products?

Our all-time favorite Falcon dish is your mug. It's classic. The shape is streamlined and holding it in your hand feels like coming home. We serve fresh coffee daily in the shop and you'll find every one of our employees with a full Falcon mug first thing in the morning.

F: Can you describe or give tips on the best places to eat, drink, source ingredients in your local area?

Excelsior is located just west of the Twin Cities. Our town is idyllic, quaint, and pretty magical all year round. Take a walk down our main street and you'll find some of the best shops, restaurants, and breweries in the area. When you get to the end of Main street, you'll hit Lake Minnetonka. The largest lake in the Twin Cities. The views alone are spectacular. On a warm summer night, we recommend grabbing a bite to eat at Coalition, an ice cream cone at Licks, and making your way down to the docks. In the wintertime, there is nothing better than hunkering down with a latte, warm fire, and live music at 318 Cafe.
