Can you tell us about Atis?
Born from a desire to meet the demands of an evolving relationship with food, founders Eleanor and Phil created atis to provide people with a healthy, plant based option that goes beyond fuel and convenience. Taste, quality, sustainability and freshly cooked food is at the core of what atis does. Atis calls it ‘powerful food’, food that tastes good and does good - for the body, soul and the planet.
What made you decide to open a health food restaurant?
We realised there was an emerging need for an alternative to your everyday grab and go lunch options. People are starting to demand ‘real’ food that’s fresh, delicious and cooked in stores each day. We care about balanced nutrition, we don’t pursue fads or omit food groups – our bowls are balanced, satisfying and will keep people fuelled for the day. The plant-forward aspect was important to us as we wanted to offer people an option that makes you feel good and does good!
You've recently started using Falcon enamelware. What’s your favourite product and what do you use it for?
Our favourite product has to be the Falcon bowls we serve our bowls in. They’re the perfect size for our bowls and our customers love the fact they are zero-waste. We love the fact they are durable and look fantastic.
Is there a specific dish that you would make at Atis using any of our Falcon products?
We recently used your beautiful roasting trays to cook up our seasonal hot topping: ‘Roasted Roots’ (a seasoned medley of squash, sweet potato, parsnips and carrots). After cooking the roots in the Falcon trays, we serve this special with our creamy roasted cashew dressing. We’d love to share the recipe but we’re sworn to secrecy so you’ll have to come in store to try it!
Are there any other local companies you'd like to shout about? Where do you usually eat, drink, and source ingredients in your local area?
We love the oasis of our new Eccleston Yards site!, which has tons of great neighbours with an impressive span of great concepts and services: There is everything from restaurants with delicious food like Wild By Tart and Colombian specialty coffee at Morena to Cryotherapy at LondonCryo, and there’s always lot of new places to try in the streets surrounding us in Belgravia.
How have you been keeping during this time? Do you have any tips for small business owners?
It’s fair to say that the last year has been a real challenge, but we are proud to have got through it. and to have opened our 2nd site in Eccleston Yards which has been a success.
Our biggest tip is to build teams that get on with each other – it's easy to get lost in whether someone has the right skills or past professional experience but in the end teams work best when people have fun and enjoy coming to work. It creates that environment where people thrive and learn which makes all the difference to their enjoyment and to the service you provide.
