Vår is a concept store based in Oslo from husband and wife duo, Aina C Hole (ainachole.no) and Anders Pfeffer Gjengedal (loevfall.com). The store opened in 2016 as a part of Aina’s photography studio which is based in the Bryn district of the city.
You can visit the studio and showroom by making an appointment, they also open one Saturday a month and you can shop their goods online here: vaarbutikk.no. They have a great selection of Falcon Enamelware available, and are famous for stocking Danish furniture and wares from Klassik Studio. Their menswear and womenswear is predominantly sourced from the Danish brand, Aiayu, which has won awards for sustainability and ethical production.

How would you best describe the concept of the store?
The common interests throughout the store is design, fashion and craftsmanship. The photography studio is the perfect backdrop for this.
The product selection is characterized by our personal favourites; we like to think we offer a great variety and that people will be inspired by our selection of wares.
What do you think makes a good product/ design?
It is important to us that brands have an environmentally friendly profile. Quality and good craftsmanship is also key.
Is there a specific dish that you would make using any of our Falcon products? If possible, please do share the recipe?
We use our Falcon for everything from salads and baked lasagne to pastries. One of our favourite dishes to bake in the Falcon bake set has to be cinnamon buns.
Can you describe or give tips on the best places to eat, drink, source ingredients in your local area?
We don’t eat out often but when we get the chance we love to treat ourselves to Maaemo which is a 3 star Michelin restaurant, and very local to us.
We also love Asian cuisine - there are some great places surrounding the National Theater. There are so many good spots to eat in Oslo!
