Jessica founded Deorling Studio in 2023, following a successful career as a Designer, spanning over 15 years. It was born from a passion for interiors and antique sourcing. Jessica’s keen eye for detail plus her experience developing sustainable manufacturing processes and sourcing ethical materials, organically became the principles for the very ethos and foundation of the Deorling brand. The combination of both heritage and contemporary tooling parallels the nature of Falcon's unique history and design.
AUTUMN WITH DEORLING STUDIO
How did you come to start Deorling Studio?
I launched Deorling after a long career in the fashion industry and having renovated my east London home. It felt like a natural progression as I found so much joy in designing and reinstating charm and character to heritage spaces.
What’s your favourite part of what you do?
I love meeting clients and guiding them through the process of designing their dream homes. Collaborating to ensure they get a space that really delivers what their home needs both practically and aesthetically.
Do you have a favourite Falcon piece and how do you use it?
My favourite piece is the mini tumblers we use them as espresso cups but have also been known to use them for condiments, nibbles and ingredients they are incredibly versatile
How do you start your day?
My day always starts with coffee. If the weather allows I will drink it outside in my garden. I love being surrounded by all of the greenery. I have a young daughter so breakfast is important to keep energy levels up for a busy day ahead as a mum and designer. Fruit, granola and yogurt are my go to ingredients for something quick and healthy.
What’s your favourite thing about your local area?
I live in Forest Gate. There is a great community of foodies here. I particularly love visiting Joyeu and Dina, they both have a great wine selection and exciting food pop ups regularly. There is also a brilliant kids cafe called The Can Club which is the perfect solution for socialising with a little one. We are blessed with an abundance of green spaces around us, Wanstead park is ideal for a weekend forest walk with the dog.
What are your top tips for hosting in Autumn?
Being a new mum I find making a big batch of homemade soup is a fantastic way for a fuss free get together. I like to keep things simple with hot homely food and a great tablescape.
How do you wind down after a busy day?
Cuddling up on the sofa with my dog Pearl is the perfect remedy to a busy day. Putting my feet up with some yummy snacks and lighting a candle is a great way to relax.
